POLITICS The Weekend and The Tory

What ho peeps!

Well I've had a fab weekend. Went off to see my little bro & better half on Friday night for food, booze and trivial pursuit. Managed to get 3 cheeses on my first round, the wine worked particularly well on my opponents. Yesterday saw loads of friends at Kerry and Justin's new place for really good party and somehow persuaded Natty that she really wanted to drive me home.

Seemed to have gone down with some sort of plague today (otherwise known as hangover) and not really done much bar play Warcraft and buy Natty a bicycle. Though did spent a couple of hours updating www.theriot.org.uk (go to their gigs in Nottingham!).

On a totally different tack, bit worried what the Tories are going to get up to at the conference this week. The whole leadership election is filling me with trepidation. Much though I think Ken Clarke was one of the best chancellors this country has ever had (he reduced the price of whisky!), I think he’s getting a little too old and out of step. I really think David Cameron would be a suitably new and challenging face to bring the conservatives into the new millennium. Love his idea for a flat rate of tax for example. David Davis is far too right wing (and common!) to be a good leader; the thought of choosing between him and Brown for PM does not fill me with joy!

Political rant over, off now to empty brain watching Bergerac (or Midsomer Murders as they now call it). Then off to work for my penultimate week dealing with the dead and the mad.
